3rd-Generation Classical Pilates Instruction

Talun Zeitoun, a male Classical Pilates Instructor, is training a man through a Pilates exercise using classical apparatus in a studio.

Talun Zeitoun discovered Classical Pilates—or Contrology, as it was originally coined—in 2020 after injuring his lower back. Upon returning to Los Angeles, he began private training within the Vintage Pilates network, where he spent three transformative years immersed in the method. Through Pilates, Talun found lasting relief for his back and the daily support needed to carry himself with strength and confidence.

Experiencing firsthand how Pilates became a powerful form of medicine for both his body and mind, Talun was inspired to share its benefits with others. This passion led him to pursue his Classical Pilates certification with Cotrone Pilates.

Talun firmly believes in Joseph Pilates’ philosophy that Pilates is more than just physical exercise—it’s a practice that opens the body and unlocks the mind, fostering balance, strength, and clarity in everyday life.

FAQ

General Questions

  • Classical Pilates follows the original method created by Joseph Pilates, maintaining a consistent sequence of exercises that build strength, flexibility, and control with precision and flow. Unlike Contemporary Pilates—which often incorporates modern variations and props—Classical Pilates stays rooted in a proven system designed to develop the body uniformly, correct posture, and restore vitality. Its structure and integrity offer a deeper, more transformative experience for those looking for long-term results and a strong foundation.

  • Classical Pilates was originally designed to be taught one-on-one, allowing for personalized instruction that honors the method’s precision and progression. Private sessions ensure proper form, alignment, and flow, which are key to experiencing the full benefits of the Classical system. While Contemporary Pilates often adapts to group formats with varied styles and props, Classical Pilates relies on individualized attention to preserve the integrity of the original work—and that’s where real transformation happens.

That being said, semi-private sessions and small group classes are available.

Sessions

  • No prior experience is necessary—sessions are beginner-friendly and personalized to your level.

  • Each session is personalized to meet your body’s needs and goals. Rooted in the Classical Pilates method, I follow the structure created by Joseph Pilates—refined by his generation student, Romana Kryzanowska—while adapting the order, focus, and equipment based on how you’re feeling that day. You’ll experience a full-body workout and stretch that builds progressively over time.

  • Consistency is critical to seeing and feeling results. Most clients benefit from 2–3 sessions per week, especially when starting out. That said, even one session a week can make a difference when done consistently. We’ll tailor a schedule based on your goals, lifestyle, and budget.

  • A brief assessment, introduction to the equipment, and foundational exercises focused on form, breath, and alignment.

  • Please wear form-fitting, comfortable clothing that allows for movement—this helps me see your alignment and ensure proper form. Avoid baggy or loose clothing, and any articles of clothing with exposed metal or plastic as to protect the equipment from scratches.

Depending on the studio, grip socks may be required for safety and hygiene, so be sure to bring a pair just in case.

  • We accept cash, Venmo, Cash App, and Apple Cash. A credit card must be held to book the appointment and may be charged for cancellations/no-shows.

  • Be sure to sign in with the phone number you used to create your account. When you book a session, any sessions available in your package will automatically be applied to your booking.

  • A 24-hour notice is required for cancellations (48 hours for house calls) to avoid being charged in-full for the session.

  • There’s a 15-minute grace period. Time will be deducted from your session, and if you arrive later, the session may be forfeited, but you will be charged in full.

  • Yes. Packages expire 4 months from the time of purchase. New client packages expire 14 days from the time of purchase. All packages are non-transferable and non-refundable, regardless of the number of sessions used or not used.

  • No. Packages are non-transferable and non-refundable, and expire 4 months from the purchase date.
